Denver, Colorado, is one of America's main wonderful cities. It's also a town where within minutes you aren't recently out in the suburbs, you are out in the mountains in the middle of nowhere! The capitol building is a wonderful piece of architecture but if you have enough energy to walk up to the top of it's dome, you'll be satisfied with being able to stand on the spot where Denver's "mile high" municipality nickname originates - you'll keep standing one mile above sea level. The view from the top is well worth the climb!
Most metropolitan areas have malls; Denver takes it that one step more. The 16th Avenue Mall is a mile long, and also still has its own shuttle bus to transport you up plus down as you shop. The mall isn't closed in as main malls are, plus with cafes plus fountains it's a large place to sit outside and people watch in the afternoon.
House to the Denver mint (no samples given), Denver museum has a relic skeleton as one of it's major exhibits and also if the weather isn't playing nice, the Children's Museum of Denver is a fun place to take the kids until the sun comes out again.
